Every home should be identifiable as uniquely yours.
A space that is comfortable, beautiful and functional for you.
A space that you are proud to welcome people into (or squirrel away for yourself).
A space that goes beyond the bounds of time and trends, but sustains the ability to grow as you do.
At The Brooks & Studio, we are passionate about elegant, enhancing design that makes our clients confident in and excited about their homes. We believe every home should reflect the individual beauty of its owners and respect its history, but also maximise function of its intrinsic needs.
Through quality interior architecture and clever spatial planning, sustainable materials & furniture, subtle lighting and a holistic colour palette, which flow from room to room, design changes from a basic set of requirements to a home full of personality and utility. We bring that to life with meticulous detail and attentive communication throughout the process.
Our studio is currently based in Philadelphia, but taking projects across the US and in the UK (Lex’s former home). We are known for our signature colours, rich natural textures, bespoke millwork, patterned upholstery and sourcing antique furniture. This combination sits as happily in a hundred year old home as it does in a new build, but also stretches across many design aesthetics from traditional to modern. We look forward to helping unfold your unique home.
The Brooks & Studio was founded during a worldwide pandemic, after a long & successful career in corporate marketing, Lex designed to finally pursue her design passion. I’m thrilled to be helping my clients be happy in their homes, and helping other interior designers maximise their potential too. I firmly believe in community over competition.

Lex was designing and drawing floorplans for her dream home from the age of 7. She has a form of synestheia that means emotions and thoughts translate into designed rooms in her mind, so interior pursuits have quite literally been a way of life.
Being the daughter of a textile designer mother and engineer father means form and function are innate qualities to everything she sees. Add to that a childhood in the English Cotswolds, followed by a nomadic life across Europe and the USA, she’s lived in dozens of homes, with many different styles and has aborbed every second of it. Naturally with this upbringing, she’s drawn to dramatic finishes, beautiful fabrics, antique English furniture, and historic properties that need a little extra love to help them become contemporary abodes.
Despite all of this though, Lex still landed in marketing for the first 12 years of her career, directing household brands big and small through the digital universe. This provided her a strong base in project management, client relationships, communication and strategic business execution which are applicable skills in nearly every walk of life. While pursuing the creative aspects of her job as much as possible, she still always sought out the hands-on creativity of interior design during her free time - helping friends and family pick paint colours, blinds, furnishings or suggesting new layouts for their homes.
So, after some unexpected life changes, the time finally seemed right to launch, turning this passionate hobby and the creative parts of her marketing career, into a full-time multi-disciplinary design enterprise. Never one to back down from a challenge or to twiddle her thumbs, she has been ecstatic to see the business take off so quickly. She is raring to help more people imbue more personal flair into their homes and to help other designers bring their highly visual businesses to their maximum potential through a better digital presence.
